About

An exhibition of French posters from the decades after World War II, on view at Poster House in its Programs Gallery. Curated by Angelina Lippert, it centers on Lefor-Openo, a female design team whose twelve-year career is shown as a lens on midcentury French society, politics, and culture. While France rebuilt under Charles de Gaulle, advertising favored bright, optimistic, cute imagery over hints of turmoil, alongside male artists like Raymond Savignac and Hervé Morvan. The show takes about 40 minutes, is rated G, and is accompanied by the first English-language book dedicated to Lefor-Openo.
