About

An evening concert closing the Jazz Is Staten Island series, presenting Local is Global Part II: Rhythms of the African Diaspora with a dynamic jazz ensemble. It is presented by Universal Temple of the Arts together with Snug Harbor. The lineup features Asante Santi Debriano on bass, T.K. Blue on saxophone, flute and kalimba, Matt Smythe on keyboard, and Juan Chiavassa on drums. Debriano and Blue, both internationally recognized and longtime collaborators of the late NEA Jazz Master Dr. Randy Weston, continue through their music the storytelling purpose Weston described.
