About

"Maayuma li Mubirr (Healing Scars)" is a 65-minute performance work from Australia. It was created by Yuwalaaraay composer and performer Warren Mason and is presented by Moogahlin Performing Arts, tracing the intergenerational journey lines of First Peoples healing from injustice. Mason blends natural sounds of his Yuwaalaraay homeland, guitar, spoken word and singing styles of his old people, interwoven with movement choreographed with Jo Clancy, Lily Shearer, Kiarn Doyle and himself. The work honours matriarchy, survival, strength and the power of First Peoples storytelling, inviting audiences into a shared catharsis of truth, healing and resilience.
