Nike: Form Follows Motion | Before-Hours Gallery Talk and Walkthrough
Museum of Arts and Design, Columbus Circle 2, New York, Manhattan
$50 general, $40 members
About
A before-hours gallery talk and walkthrough of the exhibition Nike: Form Follows Motion at the Museum of Arts and Design, before the museum opens to the public. Led by the museum's expert guide and Nike sneaker collector, it explores design rarities, rarely seen archival prototypes and sketches, and an installation of Nike collaborations with fashion icons, music stars and elite athletes. The hour-long tour deepens appreciation of the world's most influential sports brand and NYC's sneaker culture, and the ticket includes admission to the entire museum once it opens. The exhibition is organized by the Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, Germany, curated by Glenn Adamson with assistant curator Marcella Hanika.
