About
A free, all-ages open house day of programs and activities inspired by MoMA PS1's new exhibitions, with family workshops, artist talks, a sound bath, a makers market, and a 50th-anniversary stoop sale. Organized by MoMA PS1, it celebrates the opening of Hard Art, an exhibition on the legacy of abstraction by Black artists in the US from 1969 to today; a family workshop builds window-objects inspired by Masao Gozu: Windows and Bars; talks consider the history of the fashion exhibition New York Fashion at PS1, 1980–1984; and Howardena Pindell and James Little join director Connie Butler to revisit PS1's Afro-American Abstraction (1980). The day also includes movement sessions with Healspace and a Makers Market with artists from The Fortune Society.
