Pam Glick: PG-13
Nicola Vassell Gallery, 10th Avenue 138, 10011 New York, Manhattan
About
PG-13 is Pam Glick's debut solo exhibition at Nicola Vassell Gallery, showing her first body of work since returning to live in New York City after a 30-year hiatus. Glick first emerged in the early 1980s New York art world, exhibiting alongside George Condo and Jean Michel Basquiat. The bold paintings, her first made back in the city, isolate stacks of color and engage with earlier works of vibrant swirling forms. Her compositions suggest a grid but are disrupted by curved, looping, gestural marks, conveying an immediate emotional response: joy.
