About

This is a special launch event for the Polity issue "Reproductive Justice After Dobbs," featuring activist and professor Loretta Ross and celebrating a publication about the politics of reproduction after the Supreme Court ruling overturning abortion rights. It centers two roundtable discussions with scholars including Lorna Bracewell, Penelope Deutscher, Demetra Kasimis, Zakiya Luna, Claire McKinney, Annie Menzel, Loretta Ross, Rachel Schreiber, Rickie Solinger, and Karen Weingarten, moderated by Alyson Cole and Robyn Marasco, the issue's editors. The issue includes an interview with Ross, five new essays, and a visual essay of artists' works, covering reproductive freedom and justice, motherhood, family, reproductive science and technology, and the sexual division of labor. It is presented by The New School's Gender and Sexualities Studies Institute and co-sponsored by the Department of Politics at the New School for Social Research.
