About

Rough Draft Festival is a festival at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center where invited artists share works in progress through performances and conversations with the artists. Behind it is LPAC, as part of its commitment to supporting new work, giving artists opportunities to strengthen storytelling, test new possibilities, and connect with audiences and fellow artists. Audiences are invited into the creative process, seeing how new work evolves through experimentation, revision, and collaboration. On October 27 the program presents "Skin to Skin - Triptych of an American Epidemic", created by playwright Jeremy J. Kamps and co-creator Trixie Ndanu Kioko with Houses on the Moon Theater Company, centering the experiences of Black women in a theatrical exploration of health, care, and survival.
