About

"The Steel Man" is a play performed at 59E59 Theaters in New York City. It was written by Cary Gitter, directed by Joe Brancato, and produced by Penguin Rep Theatre, with Sam Guncler, Amanda Kristin Nichols, and Leighton Samuels performing. Inspired by a true story, it follows Jake Gellert as he struggles to escape the shadow of his larger-than-life father, Leo, a Hungarian Jewish Holocaust survivor, and searches for a way to forge his own identity while helping his father find peace. From the team behind "Gene & Gilda" and "The Sabbath Girl," this powerful drama explores themes of legacy, identity, and the complex bond between father and son.
