'Bankenland Schweiz' is an exhibition at the Landesmuseum Zürich about the history of Swiss banking. Using impressive objects, it shows how deeply money, credit and trust are rooted in Swiss identity – from Jewish moneylenders and Lombard merchants via savings banks, cantonal banks and big banks to banking secrecy and Switzerland's rise to a financial hub of world standing. Crises such as bankruptcies, international criticism and spectacular takeovers are also examined. Interactive media stations, surveys and playful elements for children invite visitors to engage with today's banking country.
