Lachrimae: early music with Biber's Requiem.

A concert of early music titled «Lachrimae: 14. November Konzert» at Kirche Oberstrass. It is organised by the Zürcher Singkreis, performing together with the cornett and trombone ensemble Les Cornets Noirs and the vocal ensemble Voces Suaves. At its centre is Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, whom Paul Hindemith called the «greatest German composer before Bach»; the Zürcher Singkreis has newly edited his Requiem and transposed it to B-flat major. Also heard are Monteverdi's «Sestina» madrigals, mourning the singer Caterina Martinelli, who died young, along with instrumental works by John Dowland and Joannes Baptista Dolar.
