About
A drum solo concert titled "Pierre Favre Drum Solo" at Theater Stok in Zurich, exploring new sound worlds of the drums. Behind the evening is Pierre Favre, who in the sixties began developing an independent, melodic music on the drums, playing with musicians such as Irene Schweizer, Peter Kowald, Paul Motian and Nana Vasconcelos. Through his search for the melodic aspects of drumming he came to solo playing and later formed ensembles such as Singing Drums and the European Chamber Ensemble. In 2004 the City of Zurich honoured him with the Kunstpreis der Stadt.
