Vier Stimmen – Ewige Gegenwart

A concert of the «Musikpodium» series in its 2026/27 season, devoted to the string quartet, which since Viennese Classicism has been regarded as the ultimate vessel for musical mastery. It celebrates the unbroken power of a line-up that keeps reinventing itself without denying its roots. The programme features works by György Kurtág, David Philip Hefti, Julian Carrillo, Mischa Käser and Dmitri Shostakovich. The Merel Quartett performs, with Mary Ellen Woodside and Edouard Mätzener on violins, Alessandro D'Amico on viola and Rafael Rosenfeld on violoncello.
