«SIMELIBERG» is a new music theatre piece for vocal ensemble, choir and five actors that explores the mythical dimension of Swiss folk songs. At its centre stands the legendary Simeliberg from the oldest Swiss song «Vreneli ab em Guggisberg», around which longing, greed, violence and unhappy love unfold. Moritz Achermann has newly arranged well-known old Swiss folk songs, Ueli Blum wrote the framing story and Boris von Poser directs. The piece is performed by vocal ensemble stimmig! and the Chor Guggisberg, with soloists such as Joachim Aeschlimann, Ana Jukic and Peter Rinderknecht as well as Magdalena Irmann on accordion.
