About
"Artists-in-residence / Matthias Erian" is a residency project at AckerStadtPalast centred on the interdisciplinary work of the artist Matthias Erian. Erian is an electroacoustic composer and sound designer who has in recent years expanded his field of activity to include video art and light design. He works with digitally developed textures from natural and urban sound sources, seeking in the field of tension of electronic music the colours of present soundscapes. After years of cooperation with theatre and dance, he seeks an interdisciplinary approach in which the technology and dramaturgy of the theatre stage merge into one unified, equal performance; the resonating body of the room is likewise a focus and is made tangible in his work.
