ATHAR is a dance and performance work celebrating its premiere in the Festsaal at Sophiensaele. Behind the piece is performer and choreographer Enad Marouf. In Arabic, “athar” means both “trace” and “ruin” – the performance explores what remains: a fragment, a proof of absence and a remnant of existence. It revisits the 1960s and early 70s and seeks to bring audience and artists together as a collective, tracing a moment of time, space and loss.
