About
„Auf den Spuren der Sterne“ (In the Footsteps of the Stars) is a 60-minute guided tour of the Archenhold Observatory for kindergarten and school groups, in which children and pupils dive into the fascinating world of astronomy in a live format. The tour covers three stops: the famous Great Refractor, the longest movable lens telescope in the world, whose construction and working are explained; a real fragment of the Arizona meteorite in the solar system exhibition room, which can be touched as well as viewed; and, to finish, the planetarium dome, where the current night sky is brought to life. Germany's oldest and largest public observatory hosts the tour and adapts it flexibly to the age group and the learners' level. The observatory asks that bookings be made through its ticket hotline at +49 30 421845-10 or [email protected].
