About
„Betroffene zeigen Gesicht“ (Those affected show their faces) is a photo exhibition about people who experienced sexualized violence in childhood within the church and church institutions. It was conceived and curated by Dr. Ilonka Czerny of the Academy of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart; the opening also features Vicar General Father Manfred Kollig SSCC of the Archdiocese of Berlin. Photos from the affected people's childhood and youth are paired with short texts they provided themselves, making their personal stories visible without depicting the violence itself in images. The exhibition is shown in the Raum der Umkehr in the crypt of St. Hedwig's Cathedral.
