About
The puppet theatre piece „Das Geheimnis, der Tunnel und Helmut“ is a search for traces between secret and history, recommended from age 9. It comes from the Figurentheater Ute Kahmann and is performed on the studio stage of the Astrid-Lindgren-Bühne at the FEZ. At its centre is Helmut, the new father of a child who senses that something about him is different: only after the opening of the Wall does his hidden secret become visible, that he helped people flee from East to West and was imprisoned for it. The roughly 60-minute piece tells of courage and fear, of constraints and longings, and of the struggle between speaking and keeping silent.
