Das Ungesagte
About
“Das Ungesagte” is a documentary about the silence that fell over Germans after 1945, when the Nazi era became taboo in nearly every family. Taking a psychological approach, the film explores what people at the time actually thought and felt. It asks how they today judge their own participation in and involvement with the Nazi regime. Behind the film is the directing team of Patricia Hector and Lothar Herzog.

Critics praise the sensitive, restrained style, psychologically deep interviews and the film's value as a final testimony. They fault its lacking structure and context, unaddressed contradictions and a timid, evasive approach.
