About
"Draußen… Im Museum" is an exhibition at the Brücke-Museum. It presents beloved and rarely shown works from the museum's collection by the artists of the Brücke, including Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, Erich Heckel and Max Pechstein, who left the cities at the beginning of the 20th century to work in nature and search for a new unity of human and landscape. Their celebration of the landscape in paintings, drawings and woodcuts meets a building by Werner Düttmann that deliberately draws the surrounding Grunewald forest into the museum. Contemporary contributions by atelier le balto, Lizza May David and Alina Schmuch open new perspectives on the collection, the architecture and the wooded site.
