"Dropping In and Out – A Response to Uncertainty" is an exhibition of research-based, multimedia artistic works. It was initiated by the Berlin-based artists Mathilde ter Heijne and Vanessa Gravenor (Berlin University of the Arts) together with the literary scholar Jessica Goodman (University of Oxford), curated in collaboration with Katharina Koch and Sylvia Sadzinski. The contributions address ruptures and detours in the biographies of deceased artists and historical female figures, offering layered narratives of exclusion, resistance, care and communal forms of knowledge instead of linear success stories. The works emerged from an open dialogue within the interdisciplinary, artistic-research project of the same name.
