An exhibition that brings the GDR artists and political activists Annemirl Bauer and Bärbel Bohley together in dialogue with Christian Borchert, Jürgen Graetz, Barbara Klemm and Elske Rosenfeld. It is staged by the Galerie im Turm with the ifa as the final show of the six-part series Publik Machen: Zu Arbeit und Wirken des Zentrums für Kunstausstellungen der DDR. Works from the estates of the two artists, who openly challenged the repressive GDR system, are shown alongside photographs of them in their personal and artistic surroundings. Curated by Sandra Teitge and Susanne Weiß (ifa), the exhibition uses the Galerie im Turm itself as a starting point, a venue that excluded both women during their lifetimes.
