About
A talk with discussion on the state of conservatism in politically turbulent times in Germany. The economist and political scientist Siegfried Franke, professor of economic policy at the Andrássy University in Budapest from 2012 to 2015, explains how conservative thinking can offer perspectives for solutions in the face of crises. It is about proven courses of action such as fostering the family, protecting private property combined with effective competition policy, and preserving the rule of law and defending fundamental rights. Thanks to his international work, he also takes in developments beyond Germany, such as those in Hungary, where Viktor Orban was voted out despite successful government.
