A tour led by Elisa R. Linn devoted to Georg Rommel's monument for the builders of the city centre at Alexanderplatz. Linn, an art historian, curator and author, examines the monument created between 1968 and 1972 in what was then East Berlin. She traces how it and the „Alex“, designed as a modernist „shop window“ of socialist Berlin, became a site of unplanned appropriations and artistic-activist practices. The meeting point is GROTTO, from where the group travels together by S-Bahn to Alexanderplatz.
