About
A jazz concert by the quintet Atlantico around the Sardinian saxophonist and clarinettist Enzo Favata at the Zig Zag Jazz Club. Favata and four Italian musicians – Daniele di Bonaventura on bandoneon, Marcello Peghin on ten-string guitar, Salvatore Maltana on double bass and Alessandro Cau on drums – combine jazz and free improvisation with chamber music and the traditions of Southern Italy and the Mediterranean. Inspired by travels, memories and the literature of Gabriel García Márquez and Jorge Luis Borges, the music also draws on connections across the Atlantic. At its centre is “Ritornare”, the ECM debut album released in September 2026 and produced by Manfred Eicher.
