Fortschritt als Fehlschritt
Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, Franz-Mehring-Platz 1, 10243 Berlin, Friedrichshain
About
A talk and discussion about the meaning of progress in times of deep uncertainty and fears about the future. At its center is Annette Schlemm's book »Fortschritt als Fehlschritt«, in which she explains why progress nonetheless matters for emancipatory thinking and action, and formulates a redeeming critique. Schlemm, a philosopher who long influenced political discourse in Thuringia with the Zukunftswerkstatt Jena and runs the blog »Philosophenstübchen«, presents her arguments. The event takes place together with the Bildungskollektiv Erfurt e.V. and addresses a topic that thinkers from Plato and Aristotle through Kant, Marx and Foucault have grappled with.
