Gedenkfeier am Gedenkort Eichborndamm 238

A public memorial ceremony at the memorial site with history lab at Eichborndamm 238, which recalls the so-called "Kinderfachabteilung Wiesengrund" set up in 1941, where children classified as "unworthy of life" under the National Socialist doctrine of heredity and race were admitted and died following medical experiments and a lack of medical help. The sponsorship project "Mein liebes Kind" was initiated there in 2018 by the artist Karen Scheper in cooperation with the Museum Reinickendorf, in which Berlin young people and schools take on a sponsorship for one of the murdered children. At the ceremony the participants present their projects, including pupils of the Carl-Bosch-Schule and the Georg-Herwegh-Gymnasium. District mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner and Dr. Sabine Ziegenrücker speak, Bozsó Fehér provides guitar music, and there is a laying of flowers at the memorial plaque and a tour of the memorial site with Imke Küster.
