VR Meets Fulldome: short films on a 360° dome.
INTERFILM 42: Event 02 | VR Meets Fulldome
About
"INTERFILM 42: Event 02 | VR Meets Fulldome" is a collective virtual-reality cinema experience on the huge 360° dome projection of the Zeiss-Großplanetarium – with no need for 3D glasses or VR headsets. It is part of the 42nd International Short Film Festival Berlin, held in cooperation with the festival 3D Courant in Angoulême and curated by François Serre and Alexander Stein. The fulldome programme includes a homage to Kubrick's classic »2001«, descends more than 1,500 metres into the ocean, shows the transformation of a neighbourhood in Jakarta, Indonesia over decades, and takes an animated metaphysical journey through Iceland. The festival's best VR films envelop the audience completely in image, sound and vibes; the programme of short films runs in English with original subtitles, lasts 120 minutes and is for ages 18 and up.
