INTERFILM42: The Black Gaze
Filmtheater am Friedrichshain, Bötzowstraße 1-5, 10407 Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg
About
„INTERFILM42: The Black Gaze“ is a film programme presented as part of the INTERFILM42 festival at a cinema in Berlin's Bötzowstraße neighbourhood. Titled „The Black Gaze“, it brings together seven films that do not make Black life the object of a gaze, but instead determine for themselves where to look. It starts from the question of why the cinema of the Black community should be a monolith when the community itself is not. The programme shows that representation alone in front of the camera is not enough.
