About
“Coltrane 100: Both Directions at Once” is an all-star concert project marking the 100th anniversary of John Coltrane's birth. Five internationally acclaimed musicians – Joe Lovano (saxophone), Melissa Aldana (saxophone), Nduduzo Makhathini (piano), Linda May Han Oh (bass) and Jeff “Tain” Watts (drums) – explore his legacy from a contemporary perspective. The programme combines new interpretations of music from different periods of Coltrane's career with original compositions inspired by him. The concert takes place not at the jazz club but at the Georg Neumann Saal at UdK Berlin.
