About

A piano concert in the Orania.Piano series at Orania Berlin. Berlin-based pianist and composer Johannes von Ballestrem, whose work spans jazz, Brazilian music and classical performance, pays tribute in it to the innovators of modern jazz. From Keith Jarrett and Brad Mehldau to Kurt Rosenwinkel and younger pianists such as Aaron Parks, the program showcases the evolution of jazz piano over the last 30 years. Ballestrem studied in Weimar, Berlin and Leipzig with mentors including Michael Wollny and Kurt Rosenwinkel and now tours internationally as a soloist, bandleader and sought-after sideman.
