Reading on two women's fates after the war.
Leben am Hermsdorfer Waldsee „Die Frauen tragen die Last“
About
Author Dr. Rainer Drews reads from his book at this event about life at the Hermsdorfer Waldsee. It combines a book presentation with a conversation, and Claudia Wasow-Kania gives the welcome. A biographical reportage traces the lives of two women: Maria Koerfgen, left entirely on her own as a widow with her daughter Renate from 1947 after both her son and her son-in-law went missing in the war, coped with the daily challenges of the following years only under the greatest strains. Their life paths and the moving fates in their family are recounted, as part of “Bühnentausch” 2025, a cooperation between the Museum Reinickendorf and the Stadtbibliothek Reinickendorf.
