„Nach Mitternacht“ is a stage play based on the novel by Irmgard Keun, in a monologue version by Gottfried Greiffenhagen, directed by Irene Christ and performed by Johanna Marie Bourgeois. The nineteen-year-old Susanna experiences 48 hours in 1936: her passionate love for Franz, everyday life under the „Rassegesetze“ and the denunciations of the Nazi regime. A public appearance by Hitler before an enthusiastic crowd on the Frankfurt Opernplatz becomes the starting point of momentous events, and the once humorous observer finds herself in the middle of it all, forced to grow up. Shortly before midnight, during an exuberant celebration, Susanna must make a momentous decision about her life.
