About
A showing performance as part of the Sophiensæle residency programme NEW TECHNIQUES, taking place in the Hochzeitssaal. South African choreographer and performer Naledi Majola, who lives in Berlin, is developing a group performance practice with Sarhaly aka Goldie, Chiyedza Mukada and musician and vocal teacher Lindiwe Pale, guided by the question "How do we sing through the body?". The research is inspired by the history of Black South African musicians during apartheid who lived in exile in the West, and translates musical principles such as rhythm, call-and-response and repetition into movement and voice research. Duration: 1h 30 min., free admission with registration.
