About

PENETRAÇÃO PACÍFICA – Deutsche in Angola is a research and art project presented as an exhibition. For two years the Goethe-Institut Angola has been working with the Angolan artist Mussunda N'Zombo and the photographer Bruno Fonseca, searching for traces of unwritten chapters of German colonial presence in Angola. Shown are diplomatic documents, interviews with former workers, finds from archives, films, family testimonies from descendants still born in Angola and contemporary performance photographs. The exhibition is a cooperation of the Goethe-Institut Angola with the Department of Ecological Agricultural Sciences of the University of Kassel in Witzenhausen, the Interessengemeinschaft Angola – Deutsche e.V. and the Amadeu-Antonio-Stiftung.
