About
The pneumatic tube guided tour visits the tube cellar of the former post office W 66, preserved exactly as it was left in 1973. Behind an inconspicuous grey door lies the secret room with machines and equipment, the last surviving machine station of Berlin's city pneumatic post system and a unique industrial monument of the 20th century. The tour takes place at the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin; for 100 years, pneumatic post played a central role in Berlin's message traffic as the fastest means of transporting information. For safety reasons, the tour is limited to 20 participants and registration is required.
