She'Koyokh – Klezmer, Hora, Liebeslieder

A world-music concert of klezmer melodies, hora dance music and love songs at the Kammermusiksaal of the Berlin Philharmonie. It is led by the London ensemble She'Koyokh, dedicated to the rich folk traditions of Eastern Europe, the Balkans and Turkey, joined by the Alevi-Kurdish singer Çiğdem Aslan. Alongside klezmer melodies and love songs from Anatolia, the evening features songs from Bosnia and dance music from Serbia to Ukraine, carried by Aslan's gentle yet passionate voice. The ensemble's name comes from Yiddish and means roughly 'Well done!'.
