HIJAZ MIT MANDELN is a concert of music from the Jewish world under the title „Jüdische Musik, viele Sprachen und einige Umwege“. The Institut für Neue Soziale Plastik presents a newly compiled programme in which Shlomi Moto Wagner and Tayfun Guttstadt take the audience on a journey from Central Europe via the Balkans and Anatolia to the Middle East. Songs in Yiddish, Ladino, Turkish, Hebrew, Aramaic and Arabic are performed in their own arrangements with guitar, ney, ukulele and lavta, with Hogir Uğur Göregen and Yael Gat as guest musicians. Wagner is a interdisciplinary artist and trained opera singer born in Israel and living in Berlin, while Guttstadt's background lies in Turkish, Ottoman and Sephardic music.
