UNEXPECTED LESSONS 5: The Resonating Body – Writing and Orality is an evening combining a writing workshop, three performances and an artist talk. Melanie Jame Wolf, emet ezell, Alvin Tran and Celina Baljeet Basra take part; the event is part of the series UNEXPECTED LESSONS – Knowledges of Body and Sound within the TALKING OBJECTS LAB. It centres on the interplay of body, orality and writing: language as sound, and writing as a practice of conveying knowledge, memory and self-positioning. The programme includes the performative reading MY MOUTH IS A RESURRECTION CHANNEL, the formal experiment UNRULY MATERIAL (After Genet, after Mr. Punch) and the play STRAWBERRY, ARIZONA; the talk is held in English.
