Provenance research and outreach: a talk and discussion.

An evening talk and discussion in the lecture series „Provenienz und Vermittlung im Gespräch“, part of the project „Kunst, Raub und Rückgabe – Vergessene Lebensgeschichten“. Dr. Sven Haase, provenance researcher at the Central Archive of the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz, and Dr. Patrick Helber, curator for education and outreach at the Ethnologisches Museum, report on their projects on the intersections of the Nazi era and colonialism. Moderated by Dr. Lilja-Ruben Çaharnas Vowe, they discuss similarities and differences between the two disciplines from a transhistorical perspective and what public debate can learn from discussions on colonial looted art. The project is a cooperation between the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz and the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden with the Deutsches Zentrum Kulturgutverluste; admission and participation are free, registration is requested.
