About
"Wie Grischa mit einer verwegenen Idee beinahe den Weltfrieden auslöste" is a German-German comedy staged as a world premiere on the Kammer stage of the Deutsches Theater, based on Jakob Hein's novel and directed by Wilke Weermann, running 1 hour 40 minutes without an intermission. Grischa Tannberg starts his first job at the State Planning Commission and, instead of practicing artful waiting, develops a plan for economic cooperation with the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan – involving an agricultural product that officials prefer not to mention too loudly. The audacious idea grows into a pilot project involving border troops, ministries and political leadership, raising the question of what happens when an absurd idea suddenly works. The play is about files, border crossings and big politics, and whether world history sometimes arises not from conviction but from jurisdiction, chance and the wrong person at the right desk.
