Bach: Goldberg Variations
Smith Square Hall, Smith Square, SW1P 3HA London, Millbank
£10-£25
About
A concert presenting J.S. Bach's Goldberg Variations BWV 988 in an orchestral reimagining, lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes without an interval. Arranger and conductor Robin O'Neill joins Sinfonia Smith Square to expand Bach's 30 variations on a single aria, originally conceived for keyboard, through a vivid spectrum of instrumental colour without altering Bach's design. The result is a compelling dialogue between Baroque brilliance and contemporary orchestral imagination, part of the London Festival of Baroque Music.
