About

'Beyond Bayeux: Tapestry Now' is an exhibition at Guildhall Art Gallery celebrating tapestry as a vibrant and evolving art form of the 21st century. Created in collaboration with Dovecot Studios, it brings together more than 20 artists, with works made through collaborations between Dovecot's master weavers and leading artists including David Hockney, Yinka Shonibare, Tania Kovats, Alberta Whittle, Rachel Maclean, Hurvin Anderson and Farshid Moussavi, alongside major new commissions. Presented to coincide with the Bayeux Tapestry's landmark return to the UK for the first time in almost 1,000 years, it invites visitors to rethink what tapestry can be and explore its continuing relevance today.
