Tom Phillips is featured in 'Beyond Bayeux: Tapestry Now', an external exhibition at Guildhall, London, running from 23 October 2026 to 21 March 2027. Created in collaboration with Guildhall Art Gallery, it celebrates the Bayeux Tapestry's arrival in the UK and brings together more than 20 artists redefining tapestry today. The show includes 'After Benches', 1973, by Tom Phillips CBE RA (1937-2022), alongside collaborations with Dovecot's master weavers and artists such as David Hockney and Yinka Shonibare, plus new commissions with Hurvin Anderson and Farshid Moussavi. It invites visitors to rethink what tapestry can be and explore its continuing relevance in the 21st century.
