About

An art exhibition at the David Zwirner gallery showing works by the Antiguan artist, writer, and polymath Frank Walter. It is his fifth solo exhibition with the gallery and spans his vividly colored landscapes, vignettes, and portraits, with a focused installation of intimate tondo-format paintings from his Spool series, made late in his life and shaped by memories of a transatlantic ship journey. The show considers how his compositions touch on the dreamscape, landscape, and ethnoscape, informed by anthropologist Arjun Appadurai's concept of the five "scapes" of globalization.
