About

George Clark and Eiko Soga are Camden Art Centre's 2026 Studio Residency Artists, and its first family in residence, setting up the residency studio as a collective space to work and make alongside their young family. Clark is an artist and writer working across film, installation and performance, exploring moving image in the expanded field and the non-aligned histories of the Global South. Soga is an artist and researcher working with moving images, photography, poetry and installation, exploring embodied knowledge and the relationships between emotional and natural landscapes, through a long-term engagement with the Indigenous Ainu community in Hokkaido, Japan. Working collaboratively for the first time, they will explore children's prelinguistic worlds and sonic resonances, expanding field recordings in the studio, in dialogue with the philosophies of Japanese farmer Fukuoka Masanobu and with filmmaking as a form of permaculture.
