RBO Live 2026-27: Manon
Picturehouse Central, Great Windmill Street, W1D 7DH London, Covent Garden
About
This is a live cinema broadcast of Manon, a ballet performed by The Royal Ballet. It comes from choreographer Kenneth MacMillan's 1974 adaptation of Abbé Prévost's novel, set to music by Jules Massenet and designs by Nicholas Georgiadis, with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House led by conductor Koen Kessels. In the seedy underbelly of 18th-century Paris, where money is king and even love can be bought, Manon falls for the student Des Grieux but remains tempted by the riches of Parisian society. The piece stars Yasmine Naghdi as Manon and William Bracewell as Des Grieux and is suitable for ages 14+.
