About

Carmen is Bizet's sensual opera about jealousy, obsession and desire, staged at the Royal Opera House in London. Director Damiano Michieletto brings the work to life, with Sesto Quatrini conducting. In a remote Spanish town, the free-spirited Carmen seduces the respectable police officer Don José, who abandons everything for her, but she grows bored of his possessiveness and turns to the toreador Escamillo, unleashing a jealousy that ends in violence with catastrophic consequences. Ginger Costa-Jackson and Ramona Zaharia share the title role, while Russell Thomas and Valentyn Dytiuk play Don José.
