About

A screening of the feature film 'Sad Girlz'. Mexican filmmaker Fernanda Tovar's debut feature follows Paula and La Maestra, two 16-year-old best friends and rivals on their swimming teams, whose bond is tested after Paula is raped at a party and La Maestra seeks revenge in her own way, a situation that quickly spirals out of control. The film won the Generation 14+ Award at Berlinale. The Cambridge Film Festival is presented by the Cambridge Film Trust, a registered charity widening access to cinema and supporting emerging talent.
